Philanthropy

“Philanthropy is very important to us. At this stage of our lives, we are fortunate enough to have the ability to fund and to positively impact deserving nonprofit groups.”

“In business, we want to stress to all of our employees and sales partners that the act of giving is vitally important. Our matching donation program is one way that we reinforce the importance of financial support for nonprofit organizations.”

-Matthew Hyman, Managing Partner
At Central Payment, the concept of corporate social responsibility is a reflection of our corporate commitment to building successful and sustainable programs for our employees, sales partners and the communities in which we operate. We focus on donating to local, regional, and international nonprofits that address children’s and health issues.

Central Payment has chosen several organizations to receive official corporate support and contributions in 2011. In addition, we have established a matching contribution program which allows us to increase the support for each of these worthy causes by making commensurate donations, subject to approval by Central Payment management, for donations made by our employees or sales partners to any of these organizations.

We have concentrated our corporate support in 2011 for the following nonprofit organizations:

American Heart Association (www.americanheart.org)
American Red Cross (www.redcross.org)
Lucile Packard’s Children’s Hospital (www.supportLPCH.org)
Sunny Hills Services (www.sunnyhillsservices.org)
Glide (www.glide.org)
Summer Search (www.summersearch.org)
Growing Great (www.growinggreat.org)

Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital

A Place Called Packard

With more than 650 physicians and 4750 staff support and volunteers, Lucile Packard Children's Hospital is a world-class, nonprofit hospital devoted entirely to the care of babies, children, adolescents and expectant mothers.

As an academic medical center on the Stanford University campus, the Hospital benefits from a faculty and staff that is recognized as much for their achievements as for their commitment to care. Many of the doctors also serve as professors at the Stanford University School of Medicine.

Internationally recognized, the Hospital also has an extensive network of community and outreach services in dozens of locations around the San Francisco Bay area, and the greater Pacific Northwest.

American Red Cross

Since its founding in 1881 by visionary leader Clara Barton, the American Red Cross has been the nation's premier emergency response organization. As part of a worldwide movement that offers neutral humanitarian care to the victims of war, the American Red Cross distinguishes itself by also aiding victims of devastating natural disasters.

Today, in addition to domestic disaster relief, the American Red Cross offers compassionate services in five other areas: community services that help the needy; support and comfort for military members and their families; the collection, processing and distribution of lifesaving blood and blood products; educational programs that promote health and safety, and international relief and development programs.
An average of 91 cents of every dollar the Red Cross spends is invested in humanitarian services and programs. The Red Cross is not a government agency; it relies on donations of time, money, and blood to do its work.

American Heart Association

The American Heart Association has a singular mission: to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. That single purpose drives all that the organizations do.

A donation to the American Heart Association supports the fight against our nation’s No. 1 and No. 3 killers – heart disease and stroke.  Contributions will support such life-saving efforts as research, education, advocating for better health, improving patient care and reaching populations at risk.

The Association operates several websites, including:

  • HeartHub for Patients
  • Everyday Choices
  • American Stroke Association
  • My.AmericanHeart for Professionals
  • Scientific Sessions
  • Stroke Conference
  • You're The Cure

Sunny Hills Services

Sunny Hills Services is a private, non-profit organization serving vulnerable youth and their families. What was originally founded in 1895 as the Presbyterian Orphanage & Farm in Marin County is now a regional child welfare organization dedicated to protecting, serving, nurturing and healing at-risk children and adolescents.

The mission of Sunny Hills Services is to transform young lives by giving hope and by teaching skills that enable our clients to face their challenges, develop their strengths and lead productive and satisfying lives.

For more than a century, the agency has remained at the forefront of best practices in child welfare. Today, Sunny Hills is a nationally recognized agency operating 15 distinct programs throughout the greater San Francisco Bay Area. In 2010, Sunny Hills will serve more than 700 young people through an array of programs focused on the educational, mental health, housing and developmental needs of vulnerable youth.

Glide

GLIDE's mission is to create a radically inclusive, just and loving community mobilized to alleviate suffering and break the cycles of poverty and marginalization.

Our Core Values emerge from GLIDE as a spiritual movement. They are rooted in empowerment, recovery and personal transformation. Our values inspire and guide our behaviors. They are the ground we stand on.

  • Radically Inclusive - We welcome everyone. We value our differences. We respect everyone.
  • Truth Telling - We each tell our story. We each speak our truth. We listen.
  • Loving and Hopeful - We are all in recovery. We are a healing community. We love unconditionally.
  • For the People - We break through barriers. We serve each other. We change the world.
  • Celebration - We sing. We dance. We laugh together. We celebrate life!

Summer Search

The mission of Summer Search is to find resilient low-income high school students and inspire them to become responsible and altruistic leaders by providing year- round mentoring, life-changing summer experiences, college advising, and a lasting support network.

Low-income youth face tremendous obstacles to completing college and achieving their full potential. They often live in neighborhoods where the poverty and crime rates are extremely high, and the job and education opportunities are poor. According to the U.S. Department of Education, only 50% of low-income students graduate high school. Only 11% complete a four-year college within six years (Pell Institute, 2008 Report: Moving Beyond Access). This puts students from low-income communities at a serious disadvantage when it comes to having a chance at economic self-sufficiency, full civic participation, and to become leaders.

Growing Great

GrowingGreat is a non-profit organization that provides a wide range of programs for school garden and nutrition education. Our dedicated staff trains over 150 volunteers per year to deliver our programs, and we work within schools, homes, and communities.

Our efforts create a collaborative environment that helps our children and communities reconnect with healthy food and make lifelong lifestyle changes.
